Privacy policy

Introduction

This policy explains how RoamOv (“we”) collects and processes your personal data when you visit roamov.com, join the waitlist or contact us.

It follows the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the structure recommended by the French data-protection authority (CNIL).

Data controller

The data controller is RoamOv, publisher of roamov.com. For any question about your data, write to hello@roamov.com.

Data we collect

Waitlist: first name, email address, nationality, optional referral code, generated referral code, sign-up date and related ranking.

Contact form: name, email address, topic, optional number of routes, optional company name and message.

Technical data: the NEXT_LOCALE language cookie, the tarteaucitron consent cookie, and technical logs (IP address, browser) needed to keep the site secure and working.

Purposes and legal bases

Running the waitlist, the referral programme and launch emails: legitimate interest (GDPR art. 6.1.f) and, where relevant, pre-contractual steps.

Answering your messages: legitimate interest and/or pre-contractual steps.

Remembering your language and cookie choices: legitimate interest. These trackers are strictly necessary and exempt from consent.

Audience measurement via Google Tag Manager: your consent (GDPR art. 6.1.a). These trackers are set only if you accept.

Recipients

We do not sell your data. It is accessible to RoamOv and to the following processors: Netlify (website hosting), Supabase (waitlist database), Brevo (email sending) and, only if you consent, Google (Google Tag Manager / audience measurement).

These providers act only on our instructions and for the purposes described here.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers (in particular Netlify and Google) may process data from countries outside the European Union, especially the United States.

Where that happens, the transfer relies on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission’s standard contractual clauses.

Retention periods

Waitlist data: until the app launches, then for a reasonable period to keep you informed, unless you ask us to delete it sooner.

Contact messages: as long as needed to handle your request, then limited archiving if follow-up is required.

Language cookie: 12 months. tarteaucitron consent cookie: 12 months. Audience trackers (if you consent): 13 months maximum, in line with CNIL guidance.

Cookies and similar trackers

A cookie is a small file stored on your device when you visit the site. RoamOv uses tarteaucitron.js so you can accept, refuse or configure non-essential trackers.

Strictly necessary trackers (language and storing your choices) are set without consent. Google Tag Manager loads only after you accept.

You can change your choices at any time through the consent banner on every page.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction, objection, portability, and the right to give instructions about your data after your death.

To exercise them, write to hello@roamov.com. We may ask for proof of identity if needed to process your request.

Complaints

If you believe, after contacting us, that your rights are not being respected, you may lodge a complaint with the Commission nationale de l'informatique et des libertés (CNIL): www.cnil.fr, 3 Place de Fontenoy, TSA 80715, 75334 Paris Cedex 07, France.

If you live in another EU country, you may also contact your local supervisory authority.

Changes

We may update this policy to reflect changes to the site or to the law. The last-updated date appears at the top of this page.
